Tricky Life Insurance Concepts
There are several types of life insurance, and each serves a different purpose. Your options include Term Life, Whole Life (including final expense or burial insurance), and Universal Life (guaranteed, indexed, or variable).
TWO IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:
- How do you determine which type of life insurance is right for you?
- Do you truly understand how each type works?
If not, you’re not alone.
In working with my clients, I’ve found that many people believe one type of policy is better than another—or they’ve had a negative experience in the past. Most often, this comes down to a lack of understanding, unclear explanations, or being placed in a policy that didn’t align with their needs and goals.
Here’s the truth: life insurance can be complex.
And like any important financial decision, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. What works for someone else may not be the right fit for you.
That’s why it’s so important to have guidance that’s tailored to your specific situation—so you can make a confident, informed decision.
It's my job to ask you about your life insurance.
Please don't make it my job to tell your family you didn't have any!!!

Medicare Confusion
Navigating Medicare can feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to enrollment and plan selection. While enrolling in Medicare Parts A and B is an important first step, it is only the beginning of the decision-making process.
The next step is choosing how to fill the gaps that Medicare doesn’t cover. This typically means deciding between a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan paired with a stand-alone Prescription Drug Plan, or a Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan.
It’s also important to be aware that certain decisions may result in penalties if deadlines or enrollment requirements are missed.
Understanding the different parts of Medicare and how they work together can be complex—but with the right guidance, the process becomes much more manageable.
A unique way to enroll in the correct Medicare plan without all the stress and worry!
Are you turning 65 soon or new to Medicare? If so, now is the best time to understand your options so you can move forward with confidence and peace of mind.
Medicare can be complex, and making the wrong enrollment decision can have long-term consequences. That’s why having clear, trustworthy guidance matters.
I bring extensive experience in Medicare planning and have helped many individuals navigate their choices with clarity and confidence.
My interest in this area became even more personal when my own parents became eligible for Medicare. I saw firsthand how confusing the process can be and how easily people can feel overwhelmed without the right support.
I’ve also worked with individuals who discovered, too late, that they had enrolled in the wrong plan or missed important deadlines that led to penalties or coverage limitations. These situations are often preventable with the right information and guidance from the beginning.
My goal is to help you understand your options clearly so you can make informed decisions and enter this next stage of life with confidence and ease.
Medicare Supplements vs. Medicare Advantage Plans
They are not the same!!!
ARE YOU ALREADY ENROLLED IN MEDICARE?
Each year, Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) and Stand-alone Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) may change. It’s important to review those changes and understand how they may impact you. Your doctors could move in or out of a plan’s network, your medications may no longer be covered, or your copays and deductibles may increase. You always have the right to review your coverage and make changes when needed.
There is also a common misconception that Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans cannot be changed or that one insurance company is better than another. In reality, Medicare Supplement plans can be changed at any time during the year. After your initial enrollment period, you may need to medically qualify to switch plans unless you live in a state that offers protections such as a “Birthday Rule.”
It’s also important to understand that you should not remain in a higher-cost plan simply because you believe you may not qualify elsewhere. If you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Supplement plan, the insurance company name on your card does not change your benefits. For example, a Plan G is standardized—meaning the coverage is the same regardless of the carrier you choose. There are also no networks to worry about; if your doctor accepts Medicare, they accept your Medicare Supplement plan.
Some people believe Medicare Supplement plans are always better than Medicare Advantage plans. In certain situations, that may be true; however, in others, a Medicare Advantage plan may be the better fit. The right choice ultimately depends on your individual needs, budget, and health situation.
